Tambike destinations within Metro Manila

Despite the country having one of the worst traffic in the world, riding in the Philippines is actually fun. Keep in mind though, not all bikes can enter expressways. Only 400cc and up are allowed to traverse the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), Skyway, and other expressways in Luzon. Small displacement bikes can still travel out of the metro by passing through service roads and fun twisty backroads.

For this article, we will be riding to different rider hotspots within Metro Manila. These establishments are where we usually go after doing what we call a “city ride” or simply to just hang out with other riders.

Caferista

11 Brixton St. Kapitolyo, 1603, Pasig City, Metro Manila, Philippines

Caferista is a common hangout place in Brixton, Pasig City for riders. It is located beside Brixton Bespoke Bikes which is a shop that provides quality bike customization, restoration, repair, motorcycle equipment, and apparel. Gus Scootlife, a shop that specializes in customization of premium scooters and offers premium aftermarket parts, and Vespa Pasig, the official dealership of the Italian Wasp in Pasig City are also found in the same compound.

During our visit, the new Aprilia SR GT 200 was on display at the dealership. Other motorcycles there was a custom BMW R9T, a world war themed Royal Enfield Classic 500, and a preserved limited edition Ducati MH900e Evoluzione at Brixton Bespoke Bikes.

MotostrEAT

B2, Bonifacio High Street, Taguig City, Metro Manila, Philippines

This is probably the most popular hangout spot for all types of rider in Metro Manila due to its accessibility. This is where you’ll find different kinds of bikes from 50cc scooters to exotic liter bikes. Name a brand, and you’d probably see it here. At night, the place is often packed with riding groups, influencers, local personalities, and lone riders looking for a place to unwind and relax. If you’re not a fan of crowded places, then it might be wiser to plan a visit to MotostrEAT in the morning or on a weekday instead. The location is strategically placed in the middle of Highstreet in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) where food choices are a ton plus you can also shop for other stuff while you’re there.

MotostrEAT is basically a big parking lot for motorcycles with tables allotted by the mall’s management to attract riders to visit BGC and to show their support for the riding community.

Make sure to go around and to explore the area as BGC is known for a lot of things, including shopping, dining, and nightlife.

Perea Moto District

Unit 12A Ground Floor Tropical Palms Condominium, 103 Dela Rosa Street Corner Perea Street Legaspi Village, 1229 Makati City, Philippines

Perea Moto District is established mainly for Moto Enthusiasts. They serve a wide selection of spirits and liquor and offer curated motorcycle merchandise. They have this saying, “Come for the merchandise and stay for some drinks.” Right beside it is a chic cafe, Deuces, which serves good reasonably priced coffee and breakfast.

Motorcycle parking is free right in front of Perea Moto District & Deceus Coffee + Roastery. Make sure to limit or to avoid rev-bombs to maintain peace and order in this quiet neighborhood in Makati City. After all, we don’t want people to think poorly about the community.

Big Biker Street

Circuit Makati, Hippodromo Street, Carmona Makati City, Philippines

Another mall-based hotspot, Big Biker Street is intended to attract more riders to visit Circuit Makati Mall. Around the allotted motorcycle parking are different restaurants and food trucks to choose from.

Most notably, the mall also features different parks within its vicinity, including the Circuit Makati Skate Park, and the Urban City Kart Racing Circuit which I believe is the only Kart Circuit in Metro Manila worth paying attention to.

Imprint Cafe

322B Marcos Highway, Antipolo City, Philippines

Home of the popular local apparel and bike customization shop, Imprint Customs. Unlike the other venues featured, Imprint Cafe gives you a more “out of town” feel. This cafe is also a known stopover or meet-up place for those riding to popular riding destinations in Antipolo City, namely Sierra Madre and the infamous Marilaque. Located in the same compound is the Virtuosity Playground, which is an events place focusing on the riding community.

Imprint customs have been the staple of motorcycle apparel here in the Philippines so make sure to check out their riding Jerseys as this is what they are known for.

Tip: Plan your trip accordingly and ride safely as Antipolo is one of the most visited twisty backroads in the Philippines. To avoid crowds, best ride to Sierra Madre or Marilaque on a weekday. Enjoy!

Coffee ArTea

Fermina Street, Poblacion, Makati City, Philippines

Though not really marketed for the motorcycle community, this small Cafe is actually a good place to ride to. Far from your usual bike meet venue, Coffee ArTea offers a chill homey vibe with nice artwork on display.

It is located in one of the most popular nightlife places in Makati City. You’d probably see a lot of interesting bikes around as the place is also home to multiple motorcycle groups in the Philippines. Take your time to go around Poblacion and immerse yourself in local restaurants, pubs, and hole in the walls. Rest assured that you’d have a good time may it be for coffee or a few drinks, just don't forget to take it easy on the alcohol if you decide to do a pub crawl on two wheels.

That basically sums up our list of rider hotspot destinations in Metro Manila, Philippines. Going around these destinations will give you a quick view of the Metro and the riding community in the country. Til next time, always keep your two wheels down and the sunny side up!
