Most Unique Motorcycle’s Available Brand-New in the Philippines Today!

Looking for a motorcycle that will stand out from the crowd? We got you! In this article, we will be talking about what we think are the most unique motorcycles available in our market today. We won’t be including any custom motorcycles, may it be “brand new” or directly from 3rd party manufacturers as we want to keep the list simple and custom bikes are usually straight up one of a kind anyway. To manage expectations, the list will consist of different bike types and will only feature what we think is the most unique one per type.

Read up, you’re in for a treat!

Italjet Dragster 200

Italjet has recently made a comeback with the all-new Dragster 125 and 200. In the Philippines, we only have the 200cc variant available as of the moment but since Italjet teased the public with a 500cc variant for 2024, Italjet Philippines and Accessplus have somehow confirmed its arrival by accepting reservations for the Dragster 500GP. Hypersport scooter anyone? In the world of scooters, Vespa has been the most iconic and recognized brand so why not go with the Vespa? The Italian wasp has been copied by other brands throughout the years making its design language quite common. Heck, even the new Bristol Vantaggio looks almost exactly like a Primavera. The Dragster, on the other hand, has a very unique body design that is truly a work of art, a forkless front suspension that separates it from the common setup other scooters have, Brembo brakes as stock, and a very unique riding character almost making it feel like riding a bigger motorcycle. The scooter stands out from the crowd a hundred percent of the time even when parked beside bigger displacement bikes. A true must-have for enthusiasts looking for a “hypersport” scoot or simply for a unique ride to zip around town.

Suzuki Katana

The Suzuki Katana takes the cake as the most unique naked or standard motorcycle available in our market today. Why? Because probably no one even knows that it exists and with its no-bullshit classic design, no one will ever think that it's still available brand-new.

The legendary Katana was given a new life last 2020 with the new generation being based on the GSX-1000 sharing the same chassis and the same street-tuned long-stroke 999cc inline-4 engine from the legendary GSX-R1000 K5. Looks-wise, the Katana still maintained its original design language but the designers gave it a more modern look fitting for the 21st century. If you look at it, you’d probably think of it as either an old preserved bike or a custom bike made to look like something out of a sci-fi film. We usually are too busy focusing on mainstream models and motorcycles with modern riding technology that we tend to overlook gems such as this Suzuki but tell us, honestly, in a sea of liter bikes, will this Katana grab your attention? Or will you be intrigued by its inline-4 scream?

Indian FTR Rally

What comes into mind when you hear the word Scrambler? A Ducati right? After all, the Italian manufacturer successfully built a brand within a brand when they launched the Scrambler BUT same as with the Vespa, many brands tried to follow and copy the Scramblers design language making it quite common as well.

Indian, on the other hand, is known for cruiser-type bikes but did a very good job creating the FTR and in our opinion, the most unique scrambler to date, the FTR Rally which is inspired by the brand's flat track roots. It feature’s a 1203cc liquid-cooled V-Twin engine producing around 120hp and 118NM of torque and for 2023, the American manufacturer has already updated the FTR with more tech and rider aids. Indian’s are uncommon here in the Philippines, so if you want your bike to stand out, then this is the scrambler to go with. Seriously, just look at it! Like they said, it's chiseled, muscular, and sophisticated.

Ducati DesertX

We actually had a hard time deciding which adventure bike to go with. I mean, let's face it. Almost all adventure bike kinda looks the same... Kinda like a bird of some sort. Right? Except for a notable few, the Honda Africa Twin, the Harley Davidson Pan America, and what we think is the most unique of the bunch, the Ducati DesertX. We went with the Ducati because of how handsome the bike is. It kinda looks like a ’90s rally bike which makes it a retro-adventure type of some sort. It features the same 937 cc liquid-cooled, Testastretta 11-degree V-twin found in the Monster, Hypermotard, and Multistrada V2 producing 110 horsepower and 68 foot-pounds of torque which, on paper, is more than any other adventure bike in the sub 1000cc market. Unlike other adventure bikes that are biased on either on-road or off-road performance, the DesertX is strong on both. Ducati made the bike with performance in mind and banked on the manufacturer's long history with sportbikes. It performs like a Ducati street bike when you want it to and can potentially make rough roads easy to travel on given that the right adjustments are made. Notable features aside from tech and rider aids are the 21-inch wheels up front, an adjustable handlebar, and wide foot pegs for better comfort and control.

MV Agusta Superveloce 800

For sports bikes, we’re going with the MV Agusta Superveloce. The bike’s retro design is inspired by the brand’s racing legacy from the 70s but of course, MV Agusta loaded it with modern technology to be able to keep up with other modern sportbikes in the market. It features a 798cc inline three-cylinder engine producing 146bhp which is raw, lively, and aggressive in a good way! The bike's aesthetics is superb and MV’s obsessive attention to detail is top-notch. Timeless form mixed with modern superbike performance and technology, what's not to like? If for some reason you find yourself wanting a bigger version of this bike, a hypersport Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro was just recently announced and is on the way for 2023.

BMW R18

We know that Harley Davidson is the top dog in the cruiser segment but in this article, we are going with the BMW R18 as the most unique cruiser available today. The new Ducati Diavel is just around the corner BUT we honestly think that the Diavel is in its own segment kinda similar to how the Italjet Dragster is when it comes to scooters, it's just different. Yes, we know it's not the strongest performing cruiser in the market or the most badass among the bunch but the R18 probably is the rarest of them all. I mean, how often do you see a boxer engine on a cruiser or let alone a BMW R18 around? It features a massive 1802cc two-cylinder boxer engine that produces 91hp for pure emotion on the road. It doesn’t go fast but in essence, cruisers are meant to be a chill comfortable motorcycle to munch up miles on when traveling long distances. Want a fast bike? Get a proper fast-boy kind of bike and stay away from cruisers. Its design just screams classic! Elegant black paint with pinstripe accents, a classic-looking fishtail exhaust, a big boxer engine, wire wheels, and even small details such as the gauges, emblems, and other polished and chrome accents is properly done. Heck, even the riding modes are named differently - Rock, Roll, and Rain. The BMW badge alone is enough to break normie's neck but with its good looks, a one-of-a-kind engine configuration, and a good-sounding engine and exhaust, even superbike bros will surely appreciate and notice this cruiser.

Triumph Rocket 3

The MOST unique motorcycle available in the Philippines is the Rocket 3 from Triumph. It feature’s the world’s largest motorcycle engine which is a 2500cc triple engine delivering 165hp and 220Nm of torque capable of doing 0-100kph in just 2.73 seconds. The bike is a looker from all angles and kinda looks like how a classic muscle car would’ve been if turned into a motorcycle. If lucky enough to see one parked, take a good look at it because its features are so unique we promise that you’d enjoy the bike just by looking at it. I mean… it uses lug nuts for the rear wheels. Crazy, right? The giant triple is available in two variants, the sporty roadster - Rocket 3R and the cruiser tourer - Rocket 3GT either variant will surely break necks and will surely attract attention.

That sums up our list of the most unique motorcycle available brand new in the Philippines today. Let us know what you guys think, we’d love to hear your take on what you think is the most unique bike.

Til next time! Ciao!
